So Far So Good: Motherboards

First off, if you're like me and this is your first AMD system, this is going to be a journey. It may not be smooth. There are simply no guarantees with an AMD build. Second, it's an ITX board. It's small. In fact, I was surprised how small it really is, knowing beforehand that they are small. If it were smaller I would have issues with the old connectors on the front of my case. All in all, this was a fun little build board. The BIOS is very basic and I appreciate it considering how much I've dealt with my AMD processor. Speaking of which, I've paired it with a Ryzen 5600x, 16 x 2GB RAM at 3600MHz (currently running on stock 2400 because Valheim doesn't seem to be running). like XMP still). My mobo worked straight away with the 5600x as it came with the F10 BIOS version. It was nice because I was nervous about Q-flash (great idea but still sounds awkward and intimidating). Anyway, I was able to install Windows and download the F12 version and update it in the bios easily and with no fuss. I didn't have to upgrade gradually. My only concern is that there is no fan header section. My 5600x is getting pretty hot right now and airflow will continue to be an issue in my crappy old case until I buy a splitter. My first DIY build was an Ivy Comb gigabye board and so far I'm happy to be back. via command gigity.
