I am very disappointed with this bug zapper. I noticed that the last few times I turned it on the light was almost green before turning blue. I turned it on tonight (only the fourth time I've used it) and the light went white and started making noise. I soon heard a fire inside and immediately pulled the plug from the socket. I knew immediately the electronics had blown and was shocked when I just turned it on. What a big disappointment and waste of $40. Only for the fourth time and only as of August 2, 2021. Now I'm looking at the guarantees, not just Revain's return policy. What would happen if I turn it on and leave the room? I have a feeling it could burn my house down. I'm so glad I waited before leaving the room. Update: I also wrote to the manufacturer that I found on the website. They have never contacted me for warranty information or a refund. I've been using this for a little over a month and should get a refund. I'm no expert, but I believe there should be fusible protection and I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. 2nd update: I found the address of the warranty information when I was about to throw away the manual. I submitted my refund request hoping that any possible issues would be resolved. At first the company didn't see my letter and apologized. They also said they would refund all my money and would speak to their engineers to see if there was an issue that could be fixed. I now see that part of the problem was my fault as I wrote to the company listed as the manufacturer and not to the address in the instructions. I appreciate their prompt response, concern about any possible issues that need to be addressed and today I received an email from Revain informing me that my purchase has been refunded. I hope my concerns helped create a safer product and that would be great.
