I had no idea how big they were going to be so it was kind of a surprise. They are bigger than my palm. But other than that, they're great. The plastic backing keeps them from getting wet like my other pads do. They're a bit uncomfortable to wear under a thin nursing bra during the day, as the edges crease enough to show under a shirt. I wear them mostly at night. As an update, my son is now almost 9 months old and they have become my favorite nursing pads at night. The plastic backing is great for preventing leaks and the large size has proven to be a great feature too. With my other pads (which have no backing) I can leak a little and the pad gets soaked through and leaves a stain on my shirt. It's not like this! Also, I use the little bag they came in for baby socks. :) This prevents them from getting lost in the washing machine!
