Now I'm 52 and just can't focus on things next to my nose. Because of the way water plays with light, the problem is exacerbated underwater. I love doing underwater photography and videography, but I wanted to be able to get a closer look at my camera's LCD screen, so (although some reviewers said they were unlucky with those sticky lenses), I decided to try them out for $15. . Here's what I would advise people to have more success: 1. Despite what has been said, if you do what others have recommended, which is apply it with water and let it dry, you will absolutely get stuck, without driving them within 24 HRS. You only need a drop of water, but make sure any bubbles come out from under the lens and allow excess water to remain and evaporate, which can be squeezed out from below after inserting the lenses. When applied to a prescription mask, which may have a curved surface, I cannot predict how well they will adhere. But when I applied them to my atomic water toxin without a frame and followed the directions, they stayed on for 8 dives despite multiple uses of anti-fog and mask scrub/cleanser. (I inserted my lens very deep into the mask so the straight edge of the lens matched the V notch of the mask's nose, making them look like mouse ears. This worked great for bifocal use and doesn't bother me with the underwater look undesirable.) I don't leave my mask in the freshwater baths on the boats, but as a first test, after it was taped first, but before diving with it, I poured some tap water into the mask and soaked it overnight. They got stuck. It is worth mentioning that I cleaned the surface of the mask very well before applying it.2. They fog up more easily than mask glass, but when I applied the seadrops correctly, they stayed clean on *most* dives. When I additionally brushed them with mask cleanser (or mild scrub) before applying the anti-fog, they seemed to fog up even less. Using both products on every dive is my protocol.3. I bought the 1.5x version and now I can focus on almost anything near my face. Hope that helps --
