Review on LANCOSC Magnifying Stepless 5 Diopter Magnifier by Butros Allen

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Terrible design, limited functionality, overpriced

I don't like to write bad ones reviews it's just the thing is useless .. the top part of the clamp is narrowed the small part is on the outer edge and the thickest part is near the back of the clip this causes the entire clamp does not sit flush with the top of your table/bench but sits at an angle away from the table/workbench to which it is attached. 2 ) The bottom screw used above secures the clamp to the table/workbench, only has about 3/4" to hold onto the underside of the table/workbench. Coupled with the tapered top of the clamp top, it makes it impossible to securely attach the base to a table/workbench. 3) Due to #1 and #2, this magnifying glass with the clamp base falls off the table/workbench within five minutes and falls on the floor. You MUST keep your hand on it to keep it from falling. 4) The loupe mount at the top where the arm attaches to the loupe has limited movement. It moves up and down with the hand and rotates. It does not have a ball joint, which makes positioning easier. You need to reposition the entire magnifying glass stand, I mean move the whole block. If you try to use the clamp, it means you have to open the lever, move it, and try to clamp it again. If you're trying to use a clamp on the front edge of a table/bench and you need to magnify something right in front of you, forget it. There is no way (no connection) to change the position of the magnifying glass to see it. You must use a flat base. The reason I use a clip is to hold the magnifier securely in a position where it won't tip over, allowing the arm to fully extend. 5) Using a weighted basis. Don't try to pull your arm out of the base, it will tip over. You will need to add more weight to the base or move your project closer to the base of the magnifier to keep it upright. Due to the extremely poor design, I wish I had ZERO stars. It doesn't deserve a single star in my opinion. Overpriced due to poor design/limited functionality. This will be sent back.
