I've been building computers since the early days of DOS. I upgraded my motherboard to the latest Intel 8 and the new board had a USB-C connector. Except for my phone, I currently don't use this connector. After leaving port in a storm and not leaving, I bought this unit. I was pleasantly surprised that I'm using a full desk height case and the cable was long enough to reach port C and the top of the case. I was concerned that due to its small size, it might be an issue if standard USB 3.0 cables don't fit all USB ports. A month later, with all four ports loaded, everything was working fine. *Note* ANY device using solid state ICs, other things being equal, will typically fail within the first three months of use.
