My hair is slightly longer than the chin and quite wavy, it also tends to be frizzy (so I just let it air out dry) so it will be hard to find one that really suits him. This one has left my hair soft, but I feel like their mint can make it more manageable. In any case, my hair always looks better on the second day of washing (the frizz is greatly reduced after sleeping). I'd say get it, try it; What works for one hair type may not work for another. The wood in the tub is all natural and doesn't compare to other brands I have so it has never let me down. Either way, it's gentle, smells great, and leaves hair wonderfully soft.
