If you've bought or are planning to buy this particular dongle, you're probably using iOS/macOS. Connecting to my MBP's Thunderbolt ports seems difficult because the dongle is too big. very narrow and complicated introduction. But that's not the MBP's biggest problem. The real problem is that to do this you have to sacrifice TWO ports on the computer in order to access the two activation buttons on the side of the dongle itself. If you have something plugged into a different port (2 on each side of the MBP) you won't be able to do this. I have no idea why they chose this and I feel like an idiot who bought it considering the design flaw should have been obvious. So works, but not well designed for target audience unless you ONLY use iOS devices where you don't have this issue. It's practically unsuitable for use on an MBP where your lousy 4 Thunderbolt ports are real gold.
