The spike is enough to be used in many places
The best thing about these ties is that they can be used for any purpose and they come at a great price. I prefer a heavier weight. I use mine to tie down collapsible dog crates and beach chairs on the way to camp. I wasn't sure if the strength was enough so I doubled the weight so it would be cheaper for me to buy a heavier weight. They worked great on my last trip. I will use them to secure the gate in the yard. For that I will buy them again.
