These pads make cloth diapers MUCH easier and less messy! It's just a thin layer of bamboo that you put inside the diaper so the pad catches your baby when he poops and you can easily remove and wash it off. No messy or expensive diaper spray nozzles required. Unless there's a leak (which can happen, but it wasn't too often for us) there really isn't any extra mess to clean up; You can keep using the same diaper, or if there is a stain, just put it in the bucket for the next wash. I have enjoyed using them with my baby's cloth diapers; However, I have not used them as wipes so I cannot comment on that aspect of their use. I would definitely recommend these for use with all cloth diapers! We use BumGenius diapers, but they fit any brand and don't need to be used specifically with Charlie Banana diapers.
