It is what it is, cheap and like any other Chinese MP3 player

Uses the same firmware as all other cheap MP3 players. Still has a limit of 4000 files because of the Ruizu player it replaces. But I really didn't expect more. For what I use it for it does the job (music while working out) and if it lasts a few years the cheap price is worth it.
