Not even protected from water.
Not waterproof at all. Not even a little bit. I spilled water on the bed and quickly removed the sheet and protector to see if it kept the mattress dry and the mattress soggy. Maybe there was nothing on the bed! unfavorable. I had very severe back pain. As soon as we took it off I started sleeping better and my back felt better.
