Delicious and can lower blood pressure

It's too early to tell if it's Nu-Therapy Power Beats or not, but my husband's systolic blood pressure has steadily dropped by 7 points since he's been taking it every day. We're so excited we've added him to the Subscribe & Save section and if his BP results hold up I'll be upgrading my rating to 5 stars. It is a BRIGHT red powder and the dosage is one scoop per day in 8 oz. Water. (A scoop is included, but you may have to look for one.) It mixes easily and completely, and better yet, it tastes great! My husband uses these powdered drink mixes and he says they taste the same as berry drink mixes. He is very fond of drinking it as it tastes just like what he normally drinks. I've never heard of beets for lowering blood pressure, but I did my research and there are encouraging studies on it. Beets are high in nitrates, which are converted into a gas called nitric oxide in the body. Nitric oxide lowers blood pressure by relaxing smooth muscle and preventing platelets from clumping and clotting. My husband takes two types of blood pressure medication and his blood pressure is still slightly elevated. His doctor suggested he lose weight and walk regularly, which my husband did, but his blood pressure was still slightly elevated. After consulting his doctor he started taking it but we weren't really expecting results so it was a big surprise when his systolic readings started to drop. He will continue to take it and I will get back to you in about a month. As with all dietary supplements, you should consult your doctor before taking. Beetroot also has a blood-thinning effect.
