Gave it 5 stars because it is a great belt. First one of the ratchet style I’ve ever had. You pull out on the left side of the buckle and the entire buckle pivots a little to release. Really easy compared to another I’ve seen where its a small finger tip lever you have to pull from underneath. Those are not great but this is easy.Cutting and installing/reinstalling the buckle is also easy, about 2 minutes, cuts with a good pair of scissors. It has marking lines to make sure you don’t screw it up but you can cut to any length between. The buckle and the belt come in the box separate. I put the buckle on with the factory length to try it, then cut it down and added the buckle back two more times. Buckle connects with teeth that flip up to release with the help of a flat blade screw driver, could even use a butter knife. The teeth are sharp enough that they are easy to press back in by hand but if you needed to you could probably use small pair of pliers, wrapping the pliers if you are worried about scuffing. But it really doesn’t take much effort by hand.Only thing that may detract for some is that its not the most supple leather. It’s stiffer, which could potentially cause some creasing issues long term. But for the price of what you’d pay for a cheap belt it is still a win. And at this price point you’re not looking for a life long investment, but I think this will last longer than any other dress belt I’ve had.Bonus points for the nice black gift box it came in from the factory with the logo stamped on it, ready to wrap.
