I read many reviews on this and similar products before purchasing one - it works great. We drove from Cincinnati to Wisconsin Dells (8 hours one way). It rained from splashes to downpours on the way up and never had a problem. I was very nervous based on some other reviews but it was totally waterproof. Based on other reviews, we paid close attention to where we put pressure when tightening the straps. The straps are so long that it takes a bit of work to get them where they need to be, but once you figure that part out you should be fine. No problems with straps or buckles. We had to stop and tie the ends a few times because the flapping is insane at high speeds, but there was no real risk of them slipping off or anything. Easy to load when you get on the roof, well we had to use ladders (Toyota Highlander). Luggage, food, pillows and blankets fit 6 people. I would recommend it.
