I'm a professional engineer in Arizona. Batteries here beat through the heat and often lose internal communication or have high resistance between cells. Sometimes they read normally at 12 volts or higher, but cannot deliver amps under load. I bought this foxwell tester many months ago and to be honest it gives me more false readings than good ones. For example, last night when I was helping my neighbor with her car that wouldn't start after she filled up, the Foxwell battery worked fine. I used my jump box and started the car. But after 500 meters at a traffic light, the battery died, as did the car in the middle of the road. This time the battery read 3.85 volts. Luckily, a passer-by helped me to push my car into the nearest parking lot. I've gotten wrong readings at least 50% of the time with this instrument. If you are not an experienced person who can decipher the information and weigh all the symptoms, this tool will mislead you. In general I am very disappointed. I imagine this tool would work well in colder conditions where batteries tend not to break connections between cells. You need a tester you can rely on, this is not it.
