These baskets are nice and roomy and the lids fit well. They seem to be very durable and I look forward to using them in the bathroom to store some of my toiletries. Since I'll be opening and closing them quite frequently, often with one hand, I decided to make "hinges" for the lids by adding thin pieces of leather cord. This is easy and can be done with hemp, twine, or any training rope and does not require a needle. Now my flip top baskets are absolutely perfect! I'm posting a few photos of the smallest basket I made before I cut the leather cord closer to the knots, but I hope you get the point.
