Gray tarnish on the inside

When I put it on I had strange greyish spots on my arm. like a metallic stain. Then I opened the bottle and there were some gray spots inside. I tried pouring boiling water and soap in it but nothing. Then I finally got the pipe cleaners and used them to clean the inside (which worked because the stains came off and the pipe cleaners stained). I don't know if it's tarnished or something, but right now I don't feel safe drinking from it.
