I have arthritis in my right knee and needed surgery to remove a torn meniscus. Climbing stairs causes severe pain. This isn't the first knee pad I've tried. In 10 years I have accumulated a whole collection. The first thing I did when putting this brace on was try it on the stairs and was very pleased that my pain went from a 9 to a 5. What is also very important is the presence of a soft, very smooth material that wraps around the back of the knee so that the support material does not cause irritation. .Belts loosen further in the last week of April 2020. That makes this product less useless to me. I don't have the money to replace the product every few months. So my rating dropped from 5 to 1 STAR.
