I used to have smaller dehumidifiers that didn't absorb much water. It's just a bigger version of the same technology in the smaller ones, but at this size it works really well and I think that's the critical part - the smaller ones don't have enough surface area to collect moisture and the fan is too small and weak. This device impresses with its size. It has two fan speeds: low (quiet) and normal (louder). The power indicator lights up light blue and does not go out, but simply dims. On a dimmed setting, it still illuminates the interior of the unit. I put tape on the power LED and the faint blue inside doesn't bother me, but one day I will take it apart and remove the blue LED completely. I don't think the screen is good enough to really catch a lot of dust, but that's a nice plus since most of these humidifiers don't have it. In general, the device is easy to use, clean and empty. I use it indoors with poor ventilation and it pulls out about 1/4 cup of water a day so I'm impressed. That's a lot more than the smaller dehumidifiers I've used in the past. It holds a lot of water but I prefer to empty it every day. Highly recommended for small spaces!
