OK, I'm only deducting one star because reading the instructions on this wavermaker is just plain painful. I gave up and just started playing with the controller to see what changes would happen when the buttons were pressed. Of course this isn't the ideal way to use a controller that claims to have so many options, but in the end I just let it flow on a constant basis as that was exactly what I needed. Firstly it pushes out a lot of water so I would recommend you check the size carefully to make sure you don't get a mixer effect in your tank. I use the larger one on my 20G reef and have to keep it at 2 speeds out of 9 so nothing floats away. So for a larger tank I would say this is a good wave generator, I just wish the instructions were better. Especially if you want to connect multiple devices together, I imagine the instructions will be a nightmare to understand. So for a single shaft generator that's pretty good, but when you're selling all the features and modes it claims to have it can be a frustrating experience. I hope this helps you with your shopping.
