The rope itself is excellent (if the lamps fail early/unexpectedly I will update). The fact that it can be cut in certain places is great. Problems: 1) Worst of all is the screw on the terminals. Tiny Phillips screws are, by definition, difficult for a screwdriver to hold, especially when they're screwed in over you. A better solution to add to the cost would be hex/hex head screws or torx/star screws where the screwdriver is held firmly in the screw. 2) The power cord is too short. To save a few cents, why? A stupid power supply that completely covers the outlet or is used in a covered outdoor outlet is bad enough. But the fact that the candle is only a few feet long means you have to place the light closer to the socket than you'd like. I think it's only 3-4 feet. If the cable was 10 feet long, you could just roll up the excess with the included zip ties and you'd be fine. But that's too short, now what? Shorten and lengthen 12V line? You may have to do this. Lay the illuminated cable below deck so that it is ready to hand even if the socket looks bad. 3) The kit does not include a dime end cap assembly to reseal the end. You need to cut off a few feet to make it shorter. You simply get an open end that is exposed to the elements and then find your own solution to keep moisture out of the end of the hose. The included end cap base is thermally molded to the tubing so you cannot remove this part to reuse on a shorter LED ring. Overhead screws and a longer pitch.
