Beware soldered wires can detach from their strip connections

There seems to be a fatal flaw in their manufacture when you cut the strips: the copper foil to which you will be soldering your wire connections seems to be loose don't have to solve. It cost me the prototype. Brightness, uniformity, color consistency - all good. They use the matching 3M adhesive, so don't worry. So far I've had good success with their tension flexibility. I ran 12 of these directly off 3V from two AAs and they handled it well (for a quick test. That would be very poor battery life). I've also run them from a regulated 5V and used 3.3V logic with no level switch on the same 12 LED strip and that worked great too. FWIW, I've been using the NeoPixel library in the Arduino IDE for quick animations and such. I also chose around 300 ohms on the signal line and if you want to use a wider bandwidth consider a larger capacitor than they recommend for the inrush current. So the downside is that my wires come loose from the strip far too often. . The entire "platform" simply breaks off during final assembly. And it's just a heartbreaking time to go back into surgery. Not sure if the strip gets too hot when soldering, but the pad seems very small. As far as I can see it doesn't go more than a millimeter or so under the black insulating layer. Maybe this is to save money. I think you can achieve success with it and the performance for the price is very good. But if my experience is correct, you'll have to struggle with re-soldering or replacing strips more than once. You might consider buying a few extras, preparing extra strips, and designing plug-and-play connectors in case a few of your wires come loose.
