Description of 🌈 HJHX Individually Addressable LED Strip - 5V, 3.3ft 144Pixels/m, SMD5050 RGB Magic Color Programmable Rope Lights - IP30 Non-Waterproof, Black FPCB

Individually Addressable LED Strip: Ws2812b is the digitally addressable led pixel strip. Each SMD 5050 LED has a built-in integrated driver IC, which either allows you to control the color and brightness independently or is beneficial for you to add complex lighting effects to a project accordingly. Compared with most led strips made of alloy wires, ours is made of pure gold wire which has long lifespan. Compatible With Arduino: Since our Ws2812b led strip perfectly work with Arduino,ready-to-go library, FastLED library, and Raspberry Pi, you can DIY effects according to various requirements. Note: Each 0.5m with solder joints, it is not a quality issue. All the LED strips on the market are made by 0.5m PCB. User-friendly Design: This addressable rgb led strip comes with 3pin JST-SM connectors and separate power/ground wires on both ends. Each LED can be cut off individually without damaging the rest strip. You can shorten, lengthen or bend it freely. You can connect multiple strips together to extend its length and inject power for each strip in case of voltage drop. How To Make It Work: You need a 5V power supply and a pixel controller, Arduino, or other controlling systems; 3.2ft 144leds ws2812b strip requires a 5V 9A 45W power supply(not included) to make it work. Please don’t use higher than 6V; otherwise, it will destroy the entire strip. Also, each LED can be cut off individually without damaging the rest strip. Widely Applications: 5v led ws2812 can be applied to hotels, KTV, bar, game room, Christmas decorations to heighten. the atmosphere, car/shop/home decoration, and so on. As it is a non-waterproof type, it is merely workable for indoor decorations.

Works fine for me.

Didn't need or want glue on the back but that's how it is. It's not that hard to get rid of. Nice and bright, perfect for my project. The first spool was a mistake from the box but I just returned it and got another one and everything was fine. It happens, nobody's fault.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Some issues

Easy to program and use

The lighting worked quite well and using an Arduino library like FastLED made my project very easy. I was a little rough with them as the wire used was a bit stiff so some pads would lift off with too much tension but that was to be expected. I recommend only using 20ga or thinner wire with them.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Good but not great

Great headlights, BUT. best seasonal lighting

These are really good lights and I bought two sets. I just put the first set on top of the cabinets and they work great. The second set I had to tape to the back of the TV and they kept falling off. I had to buy and use double sided tape to make them work. I would send them back but didn't want to redo all the cutting and soldering of the corners on a new set. If you don't have anywhere to put them, these are great LEDs.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Nice and bright easy to work with

I immediately connected 5V to the minicontroller and verified that the strip worked. Then I cut the strip into 8 separate strips with 37 LEDs. (4 LEDs left). Then I laid them side by side and soldered wires to them to connect them into an 8x37 zigzag matrix. Soldering Iron Tip: Hold the soldering iron by the sharp ridges and drop a drop of solder onto the copper. Then hold the wire and melt the solder to connect them. For longer runs, secure the cables so they don't come loose. Powered by 5V 2A

These lights really shine!

The whole tape works great and the built in effects on the remote are very good. All LEDs work properly and have the same brightness and hue. I'll write a custom program and connect smaller segments of this strip to wireless ESP8266 microcontrollers all over the living room for x mass. So far, so good. But it's worth noting that you absolutely need to have a good 5V power supply and connect it to the LED strip after about 300 LEDs if you want to run it with all LEDs at maximum brightness (and…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Not sure

Amazing LED strip, low voltage drop

This is my first individually addressable LED kit. They were easier to execute than I expected using my Raspberry Pi library and Adafruit Neopixel Python. There are many great guides online on how to do this. The lights themselves are pretty bright when set to full power. They are easy to apply and easy to cut. I'm taking off a star because there is a slight drop in voltage even in low light. About 50 lights start fading before the end of the set (I cut the set in half so I only turned on 150).

Pros
  • Good product for the price

Love it and enjoy playing with the included controller

I bought these strips because I needed LED strips for a project, they fit perfectly. I also had to crop and restore them to the size I needed. Getting a small controller was a bonus. This allowed me to test the converted strips without connecting the Arduino. Plus, it's fun to just let them work. BTW, if you run into a problem where the LEDs are amber at full power at 12VDC at both ends of the strip, not just the input end. At full power, the voltage drop across the strip can make it difficult…

  • Easy maintenance

I accidentally fried my first strip, bought another one and it worked fine

The first strip I ordered was fine until I assumed the label on the LED controller said 5V-24V meant I could give it a voltage range. I gave it about 12V from a LiPo battery and fried my strip. But I bought the second band and a 12V-24V to 5V DC buck converter with 15A max and the bar worked fine. I used this LED strip and LED controller for my Halloween project which was a replica of the Deadmau5 head (with many wired modifications of the original strip). I'm still planning on adding custom…

Beware soldered wires can detach from their strip connections

There seems to be a fatal flaw in their manufacture when you cut the strips: the copper foil to which you will be soldering your wire connections seems to be loose don't have to solve. It cost me the prototype. Brightness, uniformity, color consistency - all good. They use the matching 3M adhesive, so don't worry. So far I've had good success with their tension flexibility. I ran 12 of these directly off 3V from two AAs and they handled it well (for a quick test. That would be very poor battery

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Cleanliness
