I love wearing my 'beginner' earrings when I don't have others, but the flat back studs and tiny screw jewels were for holding me almost impossible and trying to fit back in. Instead of running to the tattoo parlor every time I wanted to return a starter pair, I bought this little grip tool. It worked great! It holds both the pin and gem firmly in place (I do them one at a time) and lets me see what I'm doing because now each piece is actually on the end of the 5" tool instead of trying to make it to hold on.
