Fabric fades after a few washes

I was happy to find a striped cotton throw, but after two washes it looks faded and old. I was going to use this for my Airbnb but now I need to buy something else. Too late for return or replacement. Damn. Pillowcases are also two small ones for standard pillows. You can put them in there, but they don't look good. Addendum: I was contacted after my review and the customer service was great. They sent me a new cover. I try to only wash in very cold water to avoid shedding. This is a really good 100% cotton case.
