I am very impressed with these oven mitts which have a different design than what I am used to - they are 20% larger and significantly thicker than all other oven mitts. I have ever owned. They work just as well with a large-handled pot as with a thinner oven mitt, but if you're working with something that requires a little more finesse, there's a diagonal slit on one side to put your hand through, like yours pocket, giving your fingers more control over what you're doing. They're certainly top notch when it comes to heat resistance - you can hold heavy, red-hot bakeware straight out of the oven for as long as needed without feeling warm or uncomfortable in your hands. If you cook a lot and use thin oven mitts, after a few days you will wonder how you used to live without them.
