35 feet long, works!

I needed to route an HDMI signal from a media closet on the second floor of my house to a 35-40 foot area on the first floor and it worked great! I was afraid I would need an active extender but this works great and as far as I can tell the image quality is maintained.

If your having problems, odds are it's the ethernet cable!
