Identified problems and suggested solutions

It was a well thought out and impressive design. I built two of these to try and solve the problems of the first. The design of the engine is quite laborious and requires a lot of patience. This is the hardest part. Elastics - Some people have trouble placing the four elastics in the small slots and the instruction drawing is not clear. In order for the tape to fall into the slot, it needs to be stretched, making it narrower and thinner. Then they slide easily. The big problem with the first build was that things didn't turn easily and there was a lot of friction from the gears touching the piece of wood. The instructions show the use of wax. In the first set I used a wax votive. But the wax was too hard and never got to the bottom of my teeth. For the second assembly I used cotton swabs and car wax. Wax for furniture or shoes also works. Lubricate everything very well before assembly. Some tuck and spike landings were difficult. I used a combination of sanding boards cut in half lengthwise and jewelry files. The hardest part is fitting the two sides to the chassis. 14 tips. The hobby bar clips were a great help in assembling the parts. I hope these tips will help you get a better completed project. My second build works great and cruises through the dirt and gravel on its own.
