This is a Miracle - Bandages and Bandages

This is AMAZING but very expensive. Yes, you can actually take a shower with it. And it's NOT like a band-aid if the wound stays moist and uncomfortable and your skin turns pale and wrinkled. It really covers and protects the wound and allows it to heal! Emergency kit, purse, etc. But don't forget the gauze pad. The version of Tegaderm that includes the gauze pad is only for the very wealthy or hospitals that can afford to buy them by the thousands and fetch a lower price point in my humble opinion. No more patch, that's a waste of money. More info from Wikipedia, not sure why it says it's not breathable: Hydrocolloid dressing (trade names include Exuderm, Comfeel Plus, Duoderm, Granuflex, Ultec and 3M Tegaderm Hydrocolloid) is an opaque wound dressing. The hydrocolloid dressing is biodegradable, breathable and adheres to the skin eliminating the need for separate taping. The active surface of the bandage is covered with a cross-linked adhesive containing a dispersion of gelatin, pectin and carboxymethyl cellulose together. with other polymers and adhesives forming a flexible sheet. Upon contact with wound exudate, polysaccharides and other polymers absorb water and swell to form a gel that is retained in the adhesive matrix structure. The moist conditions created under the dressing should promote fibrinolysis, angiogenesis and wound healing without causing tissue softening and destruction. The gel formed by absorbing wound exudate is not mobile and flowable, but is retained in the structure of the adhesive matrix. Most hydrocolloid dressings are waterproof, so they can be washed and bathed normally.[1]
