Review on πŸ›οΈ Black Satin Pillowcase by Spasilk for Hair and Face - King Size by Matt Bokil

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Feels like Saran Wrap for your pillow

I've used this pillowcase for about a week now and the only reason why I'm giving it a rating of 2 stars is because it's sewed somewhat decently, the color is accurate (light gray) and I like the pocket flap that keeps your pillow from coming out of the case while you sleep. Otherwise I'd have to give it a 1.While I knew this pillowcase would be polyester, I wasn't expecting it to feel like the stiffest, cheapest, most plastic-y polyester available. In fact, I would say it's very close to being a slightly softer version of those plastic pillow covers for people that sweat too much. $8.99 is also much too expensive for the way this pillowcase feels, even after washing. I've purchased a pack of 2 satin-like pillowcases from Target for the same price that felt way better and lasted me for about 8 years. I can't imagine this item will last anywhere close to that long, seeing as I see a snag on it already.Despite what other reviews say, it's also not at all slippery, if you're looking to use it to help with your hair or skin. Also, it's EXTREMELY staticky when you first remove it from its packaging, so don't expect to use it without washing (not that you should anyway). In conclusion, the marketing copy for this pillowcase is extremely misleading. It is NOT the "Finest quality silky satin" because it's neither silky nor satiny. Save your money.

Pros
  • Satin is a breathable fabric that helps to regulate your body temperature, preventing you from feeling too hot or too cold during the night
Cons
  • The stitching may be low quality and easily come apart
