Review on Brand Replacement Remote Toshiba SE R0295 by Kathy Velez

I've downgraded my rating from 5 stars to 2 stars. The buttons on Pure's new replacement Toshiba SE-R0295 remote control started failing after two months of use. The cost of using this remote compared to Toshiba's overpriced $75 remote is a nudge. Check out the full review below: The brand new replacement Toshiba SE-R0295 remote control from Pure works great with the Toshiba DVR620 DVD/VHS recorder. The overall length of the Pure remote is 1/2 inch shorter and slightly thinner. It uses 2 AAA batteries instead of 2 AA. The Pure keys have a smoother feel (maybe because they're new?). The Pure has the same function keys as the Toshiba, but they're in a different order. Somehow I like the new arrangement better and I need more practice with the others. All of the function keys above the 4x4 key set below are larger than their Toshiba counterparts. The 4x4 function keys at the bottom are slightly smaller than their Toshiba counterparts. Because of this, the arrow keys [REV] [PLAY] [FWD] etc. are a little harder to find and take a little getting used to. The Pure's button feel and function are better than Toshiba's - so far. Time will tell how they hold up? My Toshiba Remote Story: I bought a Toshiba DVR620 DVD/VHS recorder through Revain a little over three years ago for $152 and I love it. I would most likely replace it with the same product if they weren't price addicted like they are with their inferior remote control. The [Enter] and [Pause] buttons on the original Toshiba remote control wore out after 2 years. I bought a genuine genuine Toshiba SE-R0295/SER0295 P000501430 FOR DVR620 DVR-620 DVR620KU DVR-620KU through Revain a year ago for $38.99 plus shipping ($47.97 total) and the [Enter] key is already worn out by the second. . Toshiba is now charging $75 plus shipping (at the time of writing this) for the same remote control - See: Toshiba Genuine Remote Control SE-R0295 / SER0295 P000501430 FOR DVR620 DVR-620 DVR620KU DVR-620KU. So I took a chance buying this Pure remote (at a fifth of the price) and I'm glad I did. At the end of the day this remote should only last 3 months to end up being a better buy for an overpriced inferior Toshiba remote.
