Excellent picture, two way sound, night vision

These are good wifi cameras. The answer is lightning fast. The Kasa smart app makes it easy to set up and use. If you can't connect immediately, please refer to the troubleshooting on the TP-Link/Kasa website for help. Once connected, the devices will update their firmware (which is a very good sign for TP-Link). You can set up multiple schedules to turn the cameras on and off automatically, which is handy when you're not around. I haven't played with the audio much, but you can hear what's going on in the room and talk to the room through the Kasa Smart app's camera. It's a push-to-talk device. Something like a radio. Night vision works great too, but night vision certainly doesn't produce as great an image as regular color video. Notifications come very quickly. If the camera detects movement, I get a notification within a few seconds. It obviously depends on networks and connections, but so far I'm impressed. To avoid false detections, you can set up up to 4 motion detection zones per camera. You can also set motion sensitivity and motion duration. One star deducted (for now) for false detections caused by changing lighting. When the lamp turns on or off, the camera detects this as motion and triggers a notification. I'm still improving the settings and will change my estimate if I'm successful. Another interesting feature is that the Kasa Smart app allows you to perform "smart actions" in conjunction with the camera. When the camera detects motion, it can be set to turn on the light or smart switch. For example, if the camera in your garage detects movement, it can be set to turn on the light in your bedroom. However, be careful. If the activated light is visible to the camera (or another camera), the change in lighting can trigger another camera event. I don't use Alexa or Google Assistant, so I can't talk to them (literally and figuratively). .The cameras come with a free trial of Advanced Video Access. I'm not sure yet if I'll pay for a sequel, and I'm not exactly sure what I'll have when the trial period ends. I expect notifications and instant access to live views, but I think the recording review period will be reduced to a few hours. I'll try to update this review when I know more. Pros-Reliable company (hopefully will continue to offer firmware updates as vulnerabilities are found)-Great picture-Night vision-Two-way audio-Remote control-Notifications-Schedules-Smart actions Cons-False motion detection due to light changes-Kasa app Smart still doesn't offer two-factor authentication, at least I haven't seen it. I really hope TP-Link wakes up and adds 2FA to their environment. In these days of IoT device hacks (doorbell ringing?), I think all IoT systems should offer strong two-factor authentication to protect the business and customers. I'm using a separate IOT network that doesn't have access to my main network. So if those cameras get hacked, the only other devices anyone can access are my TV, stereo, and lights. More serious issues here relate to changing settings and accessing video and audio. Since they are also on a separate IOT network, any hackers will regret their actions the first time they see me sneaking around my living room because that's all they get. Sorry for the optics!
