Review on πŸ’Ί Aiden Metal Futon Frame, Black by DHP by Monica Nixon

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It works fine! So far I'm happy with it. Much better than what I had.

Price approximated. While there are few bad reviews, there are plenty of good ones. I also saw this frame on another site that reviewed futons, Judge of Sleep. It was number 5 but number 1 was too expensive, number 2 was another DHP frame that didn't fit me, number 3 and number 4 were double size chairs and expensive, and then there was this one. When I saw it was on sale I bought it. I'm glad I did. Works well. It took some time to assemble, but I wouldn't say it was difficult. There were a lot of screws. Just stay organized. (I used my own hex tool which made things a bit easier) There was a part where the image didn't match the product very well and I ended up having to redo something, but it didn't last long. Just pay very close attention to the drawings. Because this futon frame is lightweight, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who might put a lot of weight on it. I would also advise, contrary to what the main reviewer says, not to use a cordless screwdriver unless you are very careful. I had no problem using a regular screwdriver to install all the screws. It is said that when the futon is off in bed, one should not sit or lie on the extreme edge. I'd say this would be an issue for a heavier person, but it's a matter of balance. Because they don't know the weight of the person buying it, they give a warning. (Again, this is a lightweight frame.) If you have a thick foam futon that doesn't fold easily, then there's a learning curve to getting it back into the couch position. At first I thought I'd never make it. (I would still be better off than the old frame I had). But after some experimentation and practice, I can fold it in seconds every day, and I'm a 5'4" female. You need to stand on the side of the futon where the armrest is. Grab the top of the "back" of the Mattress and slide forward as if you were pushing the mattress to the stowed position, then grasp the seat frame portion and pull upward toward the "back" of the mattress If this does not move the frame to the sofa position, release the mattress, grasp the "back" part of the frame and pull it towards the "seat" part to form the seat and back of the frame, a "V", then rock You slide the whole thing forward (towards the seat) and it should snap in. This works for me every day.
