I don't know how many times I can shave with a "washing machine" but they definitely last a long time. Hot water and a good quality brush will help create a thick lather. The aroma is pleasant and not overpowering. This shaving soap also keeps your skin moist but not greasy throughout the day. In combination with a good blade, this shaving soap ensures a comfortable shave. To keep the washer in my shaving mug from rattling, I heat the washer in the mug, along with the soap residue, in the microwave (1250W) for 30 seconds. and then place the mug in the fridge for about an hour. After that I leave it on my bathroom vanity overnight. When I use it the next morning, the soap becomes part of the mug and stays in place while it foams. I have been using this brand of soap for several years and plan to continue in the same way. Buying these shims in a set of three through Revain is more economical than buying them at my local grocery store.
