Not waterproof - mattress covers and mattress covers
I've been using it normally for a couple of months, I didn't think it could "not work". I dropped a small bottle of water off the shelf in the middle of the night (I know it's very frustrating to wake up from) and I was fine with the fact that I only had to change the sheets because I had a mattress topper. I found that within a minute the water seeped through the protective film and completely soaked the mattress. I slept the rest of the night on a towel - the mattress pad didn't protect.
