My dwarf hamster lives in a 12" x 30" glass tank and I wanted to give him an extra treat and some hiding spots to make him feel safe. I removed the plastic cover and placed it upside down on the bottom of the cage on top of a thin layer of bedding and then sprinkled more bedding on top. The bottom is flat so you can put more toys on it and it won't tip over. My little girl loves it! Since it's not a real "labyrinth", she finds the entrance and exit easily enough. The maze is her new favorite place to hide food. It seems to have inspired her, to be honest. Since I gave her this she has been digging a lot of holes around the rest of the cage.
