Definitely not for chinchillas. We have 2 4 month old children and so far they barely fit in. I wanted to return it but in a good way I took a bite straight away.

This is a very nice wheel. I ordered a large one for my Syrian. I suggest sealing it before using it with something like Mod Pod. My only complaint is that some of the edges are a bit rough. It only took a light sanding to smooth it out. Easy to fix.

Right out of the box, this product spins unevenly, staggers back and forth kind of drunk. This is fundamentally unsuitable. Very frustrating as this is one of the only large wooden bikes you can get in the States. The size is the only good thing about it.

Came today and our hamster has already tried it. Before putting it in the cage, I turned it over and noticed that it wobbled a bit. (with cautious force) Anyway, the attached photo shows the part that was in the wheel. What is that for or did the part fall off?

This is a great, sturdy balance bike. The only problem is that it is difficult to clean. There is a cork liner and with all my critters running around it needs cleaning. There are no cleaning instructions. The last time I cleaned it I think I used too much water and the spine of the book came open. I was able to glue it back on and add a nail.

I returned this wheel as the outside of the wheel is very thin like thick paper and my rescued chipmunk chewed through very quickly. Have an omen wheel that he loves but has become too small for him. You don't have it in lg. so i ordered these. I will now order the best memories in bulk. Your ratings are the same. (I hope I'm lucky) (Why people leave bad reviews about broken products amazes me as it's mostly due to packaging or rough shipping.

Not quiet. The wheel is not quite round and is mounted crookedly, so that it hits the base with every revolution. I also had to screw the base to the bottom of the cage to keep him from moving across the floor while he runs. I tried supporting the lever that the wheel attaches to with another piece of wood to keep it from hitting the base, but that wasn't enough to stop the impacts. The design is flawed or poorly executed. It would hurt to go back, but I want to.

the first one we bought was great and still works. Would give 5 stars. I've since bought 2 more and both had problems. One was sent back immediately as it was broken at the base. The next one we got is very loose/wobbly on the spindle, very noisy and I expect it won't last long. It's a shame because we were very happy with our first purchase, but apparently the law of averages was on our side the first time. I'll look elsewhere for the next one.

This wheel is equipped with a cork insert that makes it easier on the gerbil's paws. So they have a lot of fun running. However, the cork is only glued in one place and eventually detaches. This is ensured by Elmer's glue on the entire cork backing. The wheel has a rim around the hole. Sandpaper should be used to remove rough or sharp edges. It's okay, this wheel is glued, so it needs to be washed with a damp cloth or good quality paper towels. Don't get the wheel wet or it will fall apart…
