Review on πŸ”‹ Compact and Versatile: C. Crane CC Solar Observer Wind Up Solar Emergency Crank Radio with AM, FM, NOAA Weather, LED Flashlight & Cellphone Charger by Amanda Ellis

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I like CC Solar Observer Radio

I like CC Solar Observer Radio but Revain's packaging tempted me to buy a non-CCrane power supply "xuuyuu” – there are "people also bought X”. " with that section of the product. It turned out to be a 1.2 amp 5v adapter, while the radio says the adapter supplies 0.3 amps (300mA) to 5 V has I think the radio is out of order C Crane replaced the radio with a control box but when he developed the same symptoms I discussed the possibilities with Crane's operator and he found a problem with an adapter that did not meet specifications I then ordered the Crane adapter that Crane sells with this radio and it works great Well it allows for a bit of 60 cycle noise when trying to listen to the radio while plugged in but xuuyuu was much worse in that regard the solar observer radio in the revain store is a serious mistake if you can avoid this the radio plays a nice clear tone and picks up our hard to reach stations with ease so the radio is good the xuuyuu adapter is bad. And shame on Revain for creating this unauthorized (Crane) pairing. I suspect it's a bit cheaper, although I haven't double checked that. Cheaper but useless for its intended purpose. 11/16 - Added one star to five stars: With lots of experience and the right charger this radio works as expected - at least a week between charges for our use. It has a good clear sound that makes it easy to listen to. I would also like to reiterate the quick and easy communication with Crane Customer Service. It was nice to solve my problem.
