Review on 2 Pack OVONIC 9.6V 3800MAh Battery Compatible With DW9062, DW9061, Etc. by Andrew Jones

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Reasonably priced, charged, and does the job.

Reasonably priced, charged, and does the job. The only reason I'm not giving it a five, is that I've not yet had to charge it, so I can't review that aspect of it. It came in a day, with no added charge (money). My 2009 Ford Ranger XLS pickup's rear latchhandle broke because the truck was made by Mitsubishi, used, and the latchhandle was made of plastic, which degrades over time. I also had a DeWalt power screwdriver with a dead battery, which was left to me by my ex-wife when she moved out of the state. I ordered the new replacement latchhandle for the truck and two new 9.6v batteries for the screwdriver from revain. They arrived very quickly once I ended my procrastination by ordering them. I took them into my garage and popped one of the batteries onto the screwdriver to see if it fits. Not only did it fit, but it was also charged! I then got a torx bit from a toolkit given to me by my ex-wife during the same move, placed it in the screwdriver, and proceeded to remove the liner and access panel for the tailgate. I then pulled the truck partially out of my garage to yield enough room to open the tailgate and did so. I took a T-wrench and a 10mm socket wrench and removed the two nuts holding the old latch to the tailgate's mechanism and removed it. I inserted the new latch into the space left by the old, broken latch and replaced the same two screws. I reinstalled the tailgate's access panel and liner. Finally, I shut and opened the tailgate a couple of times. It worked great! I backed the truck to it's original position in the garage, put away the tools, and came inside to write this review. It took longer to write this review than to replace the latchhandle!

Cons
  • The weight of these batteries can make them cumbersome to carry around, especially if you need to use them for extended periods of time
