It's probably a good idea to increase the size. Definitely a quality shirt. My 11 year old wears a mix of his old 10/12 shirts which usually fit perfectly as well as the new tops I buy in 14/16 which are juicy but wearable. This size 14/16 is a little roomier than a perfect fit top but still not as big as I expected. So if your child has reached the end of one size and is on the cusp of the next, it's best to go for a bigger shirt. Good weight for material and would be a good choice for back to school / early fall days.
