I was lucky enough to have clear skin in high school so I never realized how bad acne really was. I got a Proactiv sample when I was 16, loved the way my skin felt and used it for years. Little did I know that hormones and acne go hand in hand. When I was 21-22 years old I switched to a contraceptive implant and that thing wreaked havoc my entire life. I suddenly got terrible cystic acne. Not only did I feel uncomfortable and uncomfortable, but it actually hurt so much that lying on the pillow hurt my face!
