Review on ASUS Designo MX27UC Type C Monitor - Adaptive 50Hz, Flicker-Free, Blue Light, Frameless, HD, 4K Display by Antonio Wainwright

Revainrating 5 out of 5

3840 x 2160 @ 60Hz via HDMI 2.0 port and fully compatible with 15 " MacBook Pro (2017 release)

I am writing my observations on the ASUS Designo MX27UC that I received a few days ago. Have previously bought a LG 27UD88 which should theoretically be better than Asus. But the panel expired a day later and I had to return it. Glad it happened! I ordered an Asus MX27UC and couldn't be happier with it. The panel is glossy. It can be considered as good or even better than the 27UD88. Pros: + I can also get 3840 x 2160 @ 60Hz through the HDMI 2.0 port! This is very important as the LG 27UD88 only has HDMI 1.4 which can deliver the same resolution at 30Hz which is a deal breaker (LG can only do this via Displayport) + you can also use the Asus MX27UC USB-C connect directly. with a USB-C port on your Mac Pro (I have a 2017 15" USB-C version) with the cable that came with it and get the full 3840 x 2160 @ 60Hz resolution with no settings changes and charging your MacBook Pro at the same time!. You can get half that resolution at most and weird resolution issues when using LG with a similar connection type. Cons: - No VESA mount. I really like this monitor. I will update this review if anything changes.
