WARNING! Can cause neurological problems!

We are very careful about what we feed our cats. We thought Instinct looked like a good brand. The jar smelled delicious when first opened, but after only a few hours, unless the food was covered with plastic wrap to protect it from oxygen, it quickly took on an unpleasant, spoiled, unappealing odor. a purebred Turkish Angora cat who literally showed up in our backyard as a hungry, feral and extremely sick kitten about 8 weeks old. It took about a year for him to heal. We fed him another expensive cat food and suddenly his health started to deteriorate. So we switched to Instinct cat food. After about 14 months on this diet, he suddenly developed strange and mysterious symptoms: staggering while walking, hallucinations, refusal to eat, snot and discharge from the nose, sneezing, labored breathing, rapid heartbeat, and finally severe weakness. to the point where he could no longer eat, walk, or even climb into a litter box. The vet did a lot of tests and charged us a lot of money just to tell us he had no idea but to suggest different options. We wouldn't know if we didn't do hundreds of dollars worth of additional testing. We figured we could find out the same way the vets did, at a much lower cost, and treat him with natural solutions, especially after he nearly died from the long-term antibiotics. Gave him. We began reading everything we could find about anything remotely resembling the symptoms we had seen our cat while gently feeding him food and water from a syringe and holding him in a litter box. Montmorillonite clay, an alarm bell rang. Although we weren't sure if it was sound, we canceled this meal immediately. However, he had been using it for 14 months, so the cumulative effect on his body was huge. We treated him with many holistic formulas to slowly detoxify his small body. It's been six months, but he's almost back to normal. We decided to test the Instinct liner again as it felt so good and again we weren't sure if the clay was to blame. He was playful, active and healthy, but in just TEN days on Instinct he suddenly choked again, staggered wildly as he weakly tried to walk, hung his head and frowned like he was having a terrible headache, hallucinating and finally was so weak we had to hand feed him again and keep him in a litter box. So something in Instinct's food, be it montmorillonite clay or whatever, is extremely toxic to him. Since we consider him a purebred, he may be more sensitive to the ingredients in cat food than our wonderful "Heinz 57 Mixed Breed Garden Cats". Cats and dogs, including veterinary endorsement of montmorillonite clay and how the high acidity in the animal's stomach flushes toxic heavy metals from the clay where they accumulate in the animal's body. This can result in liver failure, and over time, other organ failure and immune system problems. This review gave us an idea of what is going on with our cat. We continued our own research, but after this second episode with Instinct, we came to the conclusion that montmorillonite clay is not a healthy or safe ingredient for cats or dogs.
