Review on Jones A110 Soaker Cup + Orchestra Stand Clip by Andrea Thomas

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good choice for any reed player

My daughter played the oboe at school for a few years and last year she also took up English horn and now bassoon. All three instruments are double-tongued, and because she occasionally switches between instruments during practice, she needs to keep each instrument's tongues wet for optimal performance. The ability to mount it on a stand ensures it doesn't accidentally spill. She was very surprised when I ordered this for her and she loved it. The orchestra teacher and the other oboist were also enthusiastic. A simple, handy device for every sheet player (single or double sheets). I wish I had had this when I played alto clarinet, bass clarinet and contrabass clarinet in high school - three different reeds for me too. Good safety advice: make sure you drain the water after every workout/performance. and wipe dry if possible. Wash/disinfect regularly. After all, you always send your mouth germs back into the cup and do not want to create a breeding ground for bacteria, especially during the cold and flu season. (Note: This advice doesn't mean we had a problem with the cup in any way. Only "Mom" believes me!)
