This CD player would get 5 stars if it didn't have such a pathetic weak audio amplifier. It's definitely ONLY for headphones! I had to hook up a headphone amp and turn up the volume to get decent punch, especially at low frequencies. Sure, I'm an old rocker, but my old Sony Walkman sounded way better with headphones. In terms of sound quality, clarity, Playback quality and crack protection is all excellent. It's just a shame about the weak volume. If you use this in a noisy environment, forget it.
