Terrible product. My CD books stopped playing for no apparent reason. If you stop the book, it starts over. Very very frustrating. Returned in less than a week.

Sony quality is in no way inferior. Other reviewers didn't joke about how quickly this device drains batteries, rechargeable or not. NOT inferior to audio books. Plays some but not all MP3s. I went back to one of my old Sony players with problems but better than that.

I used to give 2 stars because my dad said it stopped working but it was his dead batteries and it's perfect again. I bought this as a birthday gift for my dad to use on his daily treadmill walks. He loves to. Since then he hasn't stopped using them and singing along to all his old and golden songs. The best gift I've ever given him, he says.

I thought CD players were a thing of the past, but I needed them when I requested audiobooks from my local library that couldn't be downloaded using the CL or Libby apps. Time will tell if this player will last, but so far I am very happy with the product. The sound of the audio book is excellent, the product is comfortable to use and I'm glad I chose this one.

I used to buy this as a birthday gift in March. This lady doesn't have a CD player in her car and loves to listen to audio books and I thought this would be a good present for her. She recently told me that she tried several audiobooks in the player and NONE of them worked. She sent the portable player back to me along with the original packaging to see if I could return it. Ordered for the coming period that I will have to listen to audio books due to eye surgery. Tested it briefly (about an hour) and it worked perfectly.
