Review on GPX PC807B Personal Portable MP3/CD Player: Anti-Skip Protection + Stereo Earbuds, Black/Gray by Ricardo Anderson

Ordered for the coming period that I will have to listen to audio books due to eye surgery. Tested it briefly (about an hour) and it worked perfectly. The device wasn't the easiest to use, but for the price, there's nothing to complain about. The sound quality was fine. After exploitation, I started using it for audio books. Since I didn't want to use up the batteries (they run through them like water) I bought an external DC power supply. That worked great for a day. Then suddenly it stopped receiving power from the external unit. I have checked the external unit and it is working fine and powering other devices. However, when it is connected to a CD player, the player stops working. Obviously, when it detects that an external power supply is connected, that power supply has priority, and since some internal circuitry of the CD player does not receive power, the unit stops. As soon as you turn it off, it works again. Unfortunately, this thing uses batteries like no other. So for extended listening, this thing is basically useless. Yes, you can use rechargeable batteries, but that's still a hassle you don't have to bear as it's also meant to accept external DC power. Unfortunately the timing of the operation meant that at the time of discovery it was a day past the return deadline. Lesson learned. Pay a little more to get better quality.
