Perforated hats let UV through (regardless of their rating) and non-perforated hats get too hot in my experience. Bought one for my dad who has skin cancer problems from too much sun. Years. He likes hats with lots of perforations to keep him cool. For some reason he won't wear the Coolibar alone, but he loves the combination of a well-ventilated hat or beanie and a black Coolibar underneath! So I bought one. EXCELLENT, by the way, does this review have a star rating system for warmth? It must be for the coolness; As far as heat is concerned, its purpose is not to keep the head warm, but to cool it.
