My application is not regular. I use this cable to connect my Bose sound system. It connects the Bose mixer to the Power Base. The cable that comes with this system is VERY stiff and frankly I don't trust it. Very difficult. I almost forgot to prepare for the show; caused a 40 minute panic. This cable is shielded, which is required by Bose, and is quite flexible. It doesn't strain the connectors like the original cable that comes with it, which is good since Bose audio gear is very expensive. I highly recommend this cable if you need flexibility. I will also buy the 3 inch version as it cleans up our stage "look". I do IT too. My previous comments relate to network settings. BUY WITH CONFIDENCE!
